@WithExtremePrejudice your ignorant to what football is. there are so many different plays. what you described is called ‘trash can’ where everyone just wings the play. and that is only used in pick up games, never in any official games.

football takes more strategy then any sport because of the stopping. plays are made on both sides. the only time a team ‘takes the ball and just runs to the endzone is on a kick or punt return.

you should learn what football is before you talk shit about it.

@nextbestrockstar No, “your” ignorant as to how little strategy there is in American Football compared to other international sports such as association football and rugby. In short, those sports have far more strategy than you credit them for, whereas American football has little strategy.

soccer is quick thinking and setting up goals. rugby, is exactly what you said football was, running straight at them and throwing the ball backwards.

@nextbestrockstar First of all, you don’t even know your own language well. The word you should be using is “you’re,” not “your,” you stupid American. Secondly, American football does NOT have more strategy than other sports. I believe that YOU believe it does, but that’s because you’ve been deluded into believing such a thing over years of watching the sport. It’s hilarious that you think because American football is your sport that you are somehow more privileged to knowledge about it.

All they do is kick a ball around untill someone gets close to them and then they fall down like little bitches. I would love to see a soccer team try to play football against a NFL team.

and yes, i would say i know more about football because ive been watching it my whole damn life. and based on what you are saying, you haven’t watched much at all. id say that makes sense.

and football does require more strategy. play the game Madden some time for the xbox. you’ll realize how much strategy there is.

@WithExtremePrejudice I’m your huckleberry. Please explain to me how, in your estimation, gridiron has “little strategy.” The goal is simple, but the methods of achieving it are incredibly diverse. I can think of five types of offenses that are each completely different but have all been employed effectively. Granted, I’m not intimate with the strategies of rugby and soccer, but from what I’ve seen most teams go about accomplishing their goals in mostly the same way.

NFL playbooks typically have dozens, if not hundreds, of different plays which must be must be memorized by each person on the team. Deception is a key element, as is the ability to predict the opponent’s next move at every position, especially for the coach. Quarterbacks and lead linebackers/safeties must read the tactical situation and adjust assignments accordingly. Et cetera. Also, all of this ignores the considerable physical considerations of the game.
